Use either face of this hammer to harden and flatten wire (please tap gently on Artistic Wire). The flat face is larger than our other chasing hammer - 1-1/4" inch in diameter. We love the bigger face of this hammer, since it facilitates the hammering of an entire wire design in one hit. This helps to flatten the design, but not mark it, avoiding a "hammered" finish. Use of the "peen" side of the hammer will result in riveting of the wire, providing a "hammered" finish. The forged head of the hammer is wedge-mounted onto the hardwood handle.
